The Digital Denture System integrates clinical and laboratory processes seamlessly. It incorporates precise record-taking methods using straightforward clinical tools that complement digital design and fabrication procedures in the lab. The Digital Denture System workflow builds upon a solid foundation of conventional clinical records. Puche Dental Lab has successfully integrated essential tools into this system to collect patient data that serves as the basis for accurate digital planning in the laboratory.
Initial Clinical Records:
The process begins with a simple analog impression and jaw relation. The Digital Denture System supports various input methods, including traditional impressions, bite registrations, wax rims, models, or even a wash impression within an existing denture. Clinicians do not need to modify their impression-taking or bite registration techniques.
The digital workflow starts by capturing the patient’s condition through impressions and registrations, using clinical tools designed to optimize data collection for digital accuracy.
Clinical Record Capture Tools Include:
Centric Tray:
- Begin with the initial impression using the centric tray.
- Capture the preliminary jaw relation using putty and the centric tray.
Centric Tray:
- Establish Camper’s plane and bipupillary line, aiding accurate orientation on the digital articulator in Ivoclar's lab planning software.
Papillameter:
- Define the upper lip's length from the incisal papilla to determine corresponding central incisor length.
Scan the Impression & Bite:
- Utilize 3Shape scanners (D750 or higher) to scan the impression and bite. Employ the Digital Denture System Professional Add-on software to input UTS CAD and Papillameter values. Select suitable teeth from the digital tooth library.
Lab Procedures:
- This information is transferred to the exclusive digital denture software in the lab, becoming integral to the denture design. These enhanced clinical steps and advanced laboratory CAD/CAM processes lead to the most improved denture quality seen in decades.
Laboratory Procedures Include:
CAD Design:
- Produce Ivoclar's exclusive bite plate/custom tray, combining the bite record and custom tray in a single appointment.
3D Bite Plate:
- Create monolithic teeth try-in, ensuring a precise fit comparable to the final prosthetic.
3D Printed Denture Try-In:
- Produce the final denture prosthetic.
- Milling in the PrograMill PM7 ensures precision.
Milled Prosthesis Components:
- Utilize PrograMill PM7 for milling SR Vivodent® CAD, offering wear-resistant DCL material for permanent denture teeth.
- Milled IVOBASE® CAD comprises high-impact PMMA discs, ensuring top-tier denture bases.
In-Lab Turnaround Time:
- 2 working days for bite plate/custom tray
- 4 working days for monolithic denture teeth try-in
- 7 working days for processing and finishing
